November 23, 2022 – Aptera, a company that is developing a battery- and solar-powered super-efficient three-wheeler electric car, announces that its cars will have charging ports that fit Tesla-style charging plugs.  The company launches a petition urging Congress to adopt the Tesla-style plug and charging port as a standard.
  2. May 25, 2023 – Ford announces that soon its newly manufactured EVs will have charging ports that fit Tesla charging plugs.  (Update:  owners of Ford CCS1 EVs can now charge at Tesla supercharging stations, see blog article.)
  3. June 8, 2023 – General Motors announces that soon its newly manufactured EVs will have charging ports that fit Tesla charging plugs (blog article).
